The ARK Animal Educational Program got off the starting blocks this January with the help of the Brownies form Roland Edwards Primary School . The group really enjoyed the star of educational program Sandy and are now ready to take their badge test with Ms. Donna Calvert. The Optimist club of Ernst & Young Caribbean invited ARK to take part in their group with an animal welfare morning held on February 11th. The event had a great turn out and we look forward to presenting prizes for that event in Bays, Wells and St. Patrick’s Primary Schools later this month.
I would like to send a huge thank to Ms. Cathy Ann Briggan of The Optimist Club, for inviting us to attend this event and helping in its success.
AgroFest 2006 was a great success this year, thanks to the help of many of our members, Donna Calvert in particular, who helped not only on the stall but in the preparation leading up to the event. To those members who helped man the stall a huge thanks without your help these events would not be possible, Roberta Seigel, Rudy Boyce, Cyntra Smith, Ron Lipyeat and Rosemary and Tricia Forde. Dorin Boyce deserves a huge thanks. Without Dorin’s efforts, none of this would be possible. Once again, a big THANK YOU to each and everyone.
The next few months are going to be very busy and we are anxiously looking forward to it, beginning with classroom education taking place at All Saints Primary School in St. Peter on Friday, March 3 rd. We have also had invitations to take part in educational presentations for the children, from many other schools, clubs and groups and “Sandy” our education mascot, is going to be the hardest worked "working dog" in Barbados .
GreenEco invited the ARK to their event that was held in the Sherbourne Conference Centre from the March 9 th to 11 th. Again, none of these events are possible without the help of volunteers, if you are interested in helping out with the educational program please contact:
